The 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme is being released today. Under this scheme, Rs 2,000 will be sent directly to the bank accounts of eligible farmers across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is transferring the money from Assam to over 9 crore farmers.
The Prime Minister is releasing a total of Rs 18,640 crore directly into the bank accounts of 9.32 crore (93.2 million) farmers across India. Each eligible farmer will receive Rs 2,000 as part of the 22nd installment.
The money is transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), which means it goes straight to the farmer’s bank account, with no middlemen involved.
