PM Modi discusses rising West Asia tensions with Iran's President, emphasizing India's commitment to peace, civilian safety, and energy security.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a crucial conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday to address the escalating tensions in West Asia. Sharing the details on X, Modi highlighted India’s deep concern over the loss of civilian lives and damage to infrastructure caused by the ongoing conflict.
“Had a conversation with Iranian President, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, to discuss the serious situation in the region. Expressed deep concern over the escalation of tensions and the loss of civilian lives as well as damage to civilian infrastructure,” Modi wrote.
He emphasized that India’s top priorities remain the safety of its nationals and the uninterrupted movement of goods and energy resources. “The safety and security of Indian nationals, along with the need for unhindered transit of goods and energy, remain India’s top priorities. Reiterated India’s commitment to peace and stability and urged for dialogue and diplomacy,” Modi added.
