While final India-US trade is yet to be signed, Indian exports will now be subject to 18 percent US tariff under an interim agreement.
India-US trade deal: India and the United States have finalized an interim trade agreement, and though a final India-US trade is yet to be signed, a wide range of Indian exports will now be subject to 18 percent tariff from the earlier 50 percent.
Earlier, on Monday, US President Donald Trump announced that he has reduced reciprocal tariffs on India from 25 percent to 18 percent, after India and the United States agreed to a trade deal.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said he spoke to his “greatest friend” Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and as per his request, agreed to a India-US trade deal, “effective immediately”.
