Transwoman petitions for job at anganwadi center in Dindigul, seeking equal opportunities for transgender individuals.
Datliga Mutheswaran, a transwoman, from Dindigul submitted a petition to the Dindigul Collector on Monday seeking a job at an anganwadi centre in Reddiarchatram in Dindigul district. She had applied to the post following a vacancy at the anganwadi centre.
She said that she was working as a temporary teacher in a government aided school in the district. She had applied for the job after coming to know about the vacancy at the anganwadi centre. However, her application was rejected by the authorities, she said. She urged the authorities concerned to consider her application and recruit her. She said that transgenders should be given priority.
