TPCC president accuses BRS and BJP of secret pact in MLC elections, confident in Congress candidate's victory.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Wednesday (February 19, 2025) accused the main opposition Bharat Rahstra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) entering into a ‘secret pact’ in the forthcoming MLC elections to defeat the Congress candidates.
Addressing a meeting in Kamareddy as part of campaigning for the Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Medak-Adilabad graduates constituency MLC seat , Mr. Mahesh Goud said like the last year’s general election, BRS is once again backing the BJP candidates in the MLC polls too indirectly.
He accused the BJP of trying to seek votes in the name of religion and said it has become a habit for the saffron party and the BRS to launch a ‘social media war’ with fake news against the Congress party. He exuded confidence that the Congress candidate Narender Reddy would come out triumphant.
Taking a dig at the decade long rule of the BRS in the State, the TPCC chief said it was the Congress party which filled up 55,000 vacant jobs in the last one year while the Pink party could generate 50,000 jobs in 10 years. He reiterated the Government’s commitment to fill all the vacancies in the Government sector.
Backing the MLC candidate Narender Reddy, the TPCC President said the former began his career giving tuitions and with sheer hard work went on to establish an educational institute which is now the most sought after institution in North Telangana.
Taking a pot shot at the four BJP MPs, in whose constituencies the MLC elections are being held, Mr. Mahesh Goud sought to know why the former failed to leverage their influence and secure decent budget for the State.
He said the Congress party was committed to the welfare of the BC’s and Rahul Gandhi was keen on ensuring the fruits of reservations reaching the Backward Classes. He said social justice was possible only with the Congress party.
