School launches 1,000 handwritten books by students

Loyola School in Kozhikode launches 1,000 unique handwritten books by students, showcasing their creativity and dedication.
Loyola School, Kozhikode, on Wednesday (February 4, 2026) organised an event at which 1,000 unique handwritten books authored by its students were launched simultaneously. Each student produced their own manuscript, managing everything from the creative content, including poems, travelogues and illustrations, to the final cover design. Principal Fr. Roy Alex and PTA president Ashik Krishnan said the initiative was the culmination of a year’s effort, supported by the school policy of setting aside a specific period solely for reading.

More than six years after the State government launched the ₹ 821.97 crore (revised cost) Jalasiri project to augment drinking water supply infrastructure in the city, it has achieved 63 % physical progress and 59.61 % financial progress, according to Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) which is implementing the project for Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC)

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the aquarium created at a cost of ₹5 crore near District Science Centre at Kokkirakulam in Tirunelveli on Wednesday through videoconference. Following the announcement made in Tamil Nadu Budget for 2022 – 2023, this aquarium with 150 ornamental fishes and a sales outlet has been established to attract a large number of visitors, especially children. The visitors will be allowed from March 13.
