Centre of Excellence in Robotics inaugurated at Government College in Bargur

Delta Electronics India and TNSDC inaugurate a Robotics Centre of Excellence in Bargur, enhancing skills for a future-ready workforce.
Delta Electronics India in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), inaugurated a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Robotics and a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Automation at the Government College of Engineering, Bargur, in Krishnagiri on Wednesday (March 4, 2026).
The Centre has been established as an industrial automation training facility designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial applications, aiming to equip students and working professionals with hands-on, industry-relevant skills. The Centre has been implemented by the Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Automobile (TN AutoSkills).
Presiding over the event, Collector C. Dinesh Kumar underlined the significance of industry-government collaboration. “Industry-led Centres of Excellence are vital to shape a future-ready workforce. Through the Vetri Nichayam initiative of TNSDC, industry-aligned programmes equip youth with the required skills to enhance their employability and contribute meaningfully to Tamil Nadu’s economy. The collaboration with Delta Electronics India, which integrates robotics and automation into skilling programmes, prepares the youth to drive India’s manufacturing growth, he added.
The Collector stated that this initiative strengthens Tamil Nadu’s position as a leading manufacturing hub while accelerating the development of an automation-skilled workforce aligned with Industry 4.0 requirements.
Speaking on the occasion, Benjamin Lin, president, Delta Electronics India, said, the company views skill development as not just a training initiative, but as a long-term strategic investment. “By enabling hands-on exposure to robotics, PLC automation, and smart assembly technologies, we aim to empower the next generation of professionals to drive productivity, innovation, and sustainable industrial growth.”
According to Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director, Delta Electronics India, through structured programmes, we intend to build a strong talent, capable of supporting automation-driven sectors and strengthening India’s competitiveness in advanced manufacturing.
