Revellers throng Vizag beach to celebrate Holi

Visakhapatnam celebrated Holi with vibrant festivities, uniting families and communities along the Beach Road in joyful celebrations.
Holi was celebrated great fervour and enthusiasm in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. People from all walks of life came together to mark the festival of colours. Like every year, the Beach Road stretch was the epicentre of festivities, and drew large crowds from early morning onwards.
Every year the coastal stretch from Naval Coastal Battery to Rushikonda, witness scenes of celebration. This year was no different as revellers splashed colours on one another, and danced to the music. Later, many were seen heading towards the sea to enjoy the waters. Families spent quality time together playing Holi, clicking selfies and group photographs, despite the hot weather conditions.

Popular spots such as RK Beach, the Submarine Museum premises, Coconut Trees Arena, and the YMCA area experienced heavy footfall of people throughout the day. Children and youth enthusiastically played along the shore, while vendors did brisk business selling water guns (pichkaris), colours, and other festive items.
Several private events were that were organised at venues along the Beach Road and other parts of the city, witnessed good participation. Resident Welfare Associations and community groups hosted Holi gatherings within their localities, ensuring safe and inclusive celebrations.

More than six years after the State government launched the ₹ 821.97 crore (revised cost) Jalasiri project to augment drinking water supply infrastructure in the city, it has achieved 63 % physical progress and 59.61 % financial progress, according to Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) which is implementing the project for Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC)
