Work on the final stretch of the Barapullah Phase-III project is all set to begin with a five-member Supreme Court-appointed committee clearing the Public Works Department’s (PWD) proposal to cut 325 trees obstructing the elevated corridor, an official said on Monday. The project, for which work is nearly 90% complete, is part of the Barapullah elevated corridor that will connect Mayur Vihar Phase-I to Sarai Kale Khan. Once completed, the 3.5-km-long flyover is expected to improve connectivity between east, south, and central Delhi and help decongest Nizamuddin Bridge, Bhairon Marg, and Ring Road.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered the issue of a notice to the State government on a PIL petition, which had complained about disturbances caused to people residing in the localities around the National Public School situated in Rajajinagar 5th block due to use of loudspeakers with high volume in the school and parking of school buses in residential areas.
