Will remain PMK founder, ‘president’ till last breath: Ramadoss

PMK founder S. Ramadoss criticizes son Anbumani's behavior, declares intention to remain party chief until death.
PMK founder and ‘president’ S. Ramadoss on Friday said the attitude and activities of his son and party “working president” Anbumani Ramadoss had worsened after the recent youth conference at Mammallapuram. Dr. Ramadoss declared he would continue to remain the founder and party chief till his last breath.
Addressing reporters for the second consecutive day at his Thailapuram residence near Puducherry, Mr. Ramadoss said though children should celebrate their parents while they were alive, Dr. Anbumani’s attitude of throwing the microphone on the table or “attempt to hit” his mother with a bottle, showed otherwise.
He reiterated his accusation that Dr. Anbumani’s actions were akin to stabbing him on the front and back of his chest and said the current developments due to his son were causing him sleepless nights. “In spite of taking sleeping pills nothing has happened and my blood pressure has been shooting up,” he said.
Dr. Ramadoss recalled his hard work and relentless efforts to build the party by visiting numerous villages. “I did it out of my own efforts,” he said. He also took strong exception to how Dr. Anbumani issued directions to him while attending party meetings in Dharmapuri and Salem districts.
“At one stage, he said that I should not use the mic and not more than 200 persons should attend the meeting,” Dr. Ramadoss said.
“He also directed that the party rank and file should meet me only at a hotel room. All this conditions showed he was dishonouring the leadership and issued directions to the founder of the party,” he said.
He added Dr. Anbumani should call journalists and state that he would continue as the “working president” and follow the instructions of the founder as a loyal cadre.
