Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, on Tuesday (March 17, 2026), debunked the claims of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) general secretary (election campaign management) Aadhav Arjuna, who recently stated that the actor refrained from entering politics due to a threat from the DMK. “Time won’t speak, but it waits and gives its answer,” Mr. Rajinikanth said.
During a protest organised by the TVK in Chennai on March 12, Mr. Arjuna claimed: “The DMK family threatened Mr. Rajinikanth and ensured that he did not enter politics.”

In a statement, Mr. Rajinikanth said the remarks by Mr. Arjuna were not true. The actor also thanked political leaders who condemned Mr. Arjuna’s “defamatory comments” and voiced their support for him (Rajinikanth), including AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan, Tamil Nadu Minister for Natural Resources S. Regupathy, and Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
