Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar is gearing up for the long overdue Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, which are expected to be held this year. He has showcased the election as a fight between the tripartite Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and the ruling dispensation led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and the BJP. The MLA from Vandre (Bandra) West is considered a trusted aide of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and expected to secure a State Cabinet berth if he ensures that the BJP wins the BMC polls. He spoke about the party’s preparations ahead of the crucial local body polls and next year’s Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Excerpts:
Pakistan coach Gary Kirsten stated that “not so great decision making” contributed to his side’s defeat to India in the Group-A T20 World Cup clash here on Sunday. The batting unit came apart in the chase, after being well placed at 72 for two. With 48 runs needed from eight overs, Pakistan found a way to panic and lose. “Maybe not so great decision making,” Kirsten said at the post-match press conference, when asked to explain the loss.
