The water level in Papanasam dam was 70 feet (maximum level 143 feet) with an inflow of 342.47 cusecs and a discharge of 704.75 cusecs. The water level in Manimuthar dam was 44.13 ft (118 feet) with an inflow of 6 cusecs and nil discharge. There was no rainfall in the region during the last 24 hours ending 6 a.m. on Sunday, PWD officials said.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Friday pledged to mobilise people in resistance against the BJP-led Union government’s “anti-agricultural worker, anti-farmer, anti-worker, anti-people” laws and policies till they are all repealed, the party said on Friday.
