District Collector declares Rushikonda Beach a 'No Plastic Zone' with awareness programme involving various officials and organisations.
District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad, who is also chairperson of the Beach Management Committee(BMC), declared the Blue Flag Beach at Rushikonda as ‘No Plastic Zone’.
An awareness programme on ‘Plastic-free and eco-friendly’ Blue Flag Beach was organised at Rushikonda on Saturday. Officials of the BMC, District Tourism Officer Gnanaveni, AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Divisional Manager Jagadish, Fisheries Survey of India (FSI) Regional Office Head D. Bami Reddy, Sub DFO Sivani and GVMC Swachhata Promotion Officer Srinivas participated in the programme.
Representatives of Coromandel International, Divis, NGOs ‘Go Green’ and Youth Club of India also participated.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
