Union Minister Baghel visits CMRI, Simhachalam temple

Union Minister S.P. Singh Baghel tours CMRI and offers prayers at Simhachalam temple, highlighting advancements in fisheries and mariculture.
Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying S.P. Singh Baghel visited the Regional Centre Of ICAR- Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) on Beach Road, on Thursday evening.
CMFRI head Joe K. Kizhakudan escorted the Minister around the laboratories, musuem, live display of marine finfish, live feeds etc. Later, the scientists and staff participated in the meeting held by Minister. Dr. Joe presented the achievements of the scientists, technologies and policy advices given to the State and the country.
Mr. Baghel spoke on the role of scientists and their discoveries, and the dream of the Prime Minister in assisting the fishermen and farmers in doubling their incomes. He appreciated the scientists of the regional centre of CMFRI for the new species being developed for mariculture and the extensive works on habitat restoration and artificial reefs in the country
Meena D.D. NIFPHAT, Hrishikesh Bisoyi DD CIFNET, GVA Prasad Scientist, FSI, and Madhusudhana Rao, Scientist In charge of CIFT were present.
Laxman Rao, Joint Director, Fisheries Department, spoke.
The Minister expressed the hope that the scientists would contribute to the success of the Blue Revolution in the country.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
