TNPCB sends second show cause notice to Tirunelveli Corporation for river pollution

After slapping a fine of ₹28.75 crore in 2021 on Tirunelveli Corporation for discharging several lakh litres of untreated sewage into the Tamirabharani every day, the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has sent one more show cause notice, asking the civic body why ₹1.55 crore should not be imposed for discharging sewage into the perennial river.
