A three-day exhibition and sale of millets got under way at the district panchayat hall on Thursday.
Organised under the aegis of the Ernakulam district panchayat in collaboration with Organic Kerala Charitable Trust, the event features a variety of healthy combinations with ragi, bajra, foxtail millets, and sorghum as major contents.
Cultivation and consumption of millets have increased following the awareness campaign to include them in daily diet, according to the organisers. Millets are being offered for sale at a discount of 30% to 40%.
District panchayat president Manoj Muthedan inaugurated the event.
