Commonwealth Parliamentary Association to hold All India Speakers’ conference in Bengaluru with over 300 participants.
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association will hold All India Speakers’ conference in Bengaluru from September 8 to September 10, according to Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader.
Talking to reporters in Mangaluru, Mr. Khader said the conference will be held in Karnataka after a gap of two decades. “For the last two years I have been demanding the association to hold the conference in Bengaluru. Glad that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla agreed this year,” he said.
Mr. Khader said three venues have been identified for hosting event and it will be held at one among them. There will be deliberations on issues to make parliamentary system of democracy more strong. More than 300 people will take part, which includes Speakers, Deputy Speakers, Chairpersons, Deputy Chairpersons of Vidhana Sabhas and Vidhana Parishad and staff working in State Legislatures. Vice-President Jagadeep Dhankhar and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will take part in the programme.
At the end of three-day event on September 10, the attendees will be taken on tour to either Mysuru, or Belur Halebid, or Mangaluru, he said.
