We want the affected people to live their lives without fear, says Bodoland Territorial Council chief Pramod Boro
Thousands of people displaced by ethnic and communal riots in areas under the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) since 1996 are set to return to the homes they left behind. Central schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Jal Jeevan Mission have been dovetailed with the rehabilitation programme within the next three months, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Pramod Boro said. “Bodoland had witnessed riots in 1996, 2008 and 2012. Peace has returned to the region after the signing of the BTR Peace Accord in January 2020. We want the affected people to go back home and live their lives without fear,” Mr. Boro told The Hindu from the BTC headquarters Kokrajhar.More Related News
