Telangana Veterinary Department monitors bird flu, urges public to report bird deaths, checks poultry vehicles at borders.
Telangana Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department asked people to contact them on WhatsApp number 9100797300 if a high number of birds die in their surroundings. This is part of the precautionary measure to check for Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), which was detected in some States, including Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Veterinary doctors from the department at Telangana’s borders continue to check vehicles carrying poultry from neighbouring States into Telangana, said additional director of Animal Husbandry department Ch. Malleshwari. If anything suspicious is observed, the vehicles are sent back. The department’s landline helpline number is 040-23314876.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
