
T.N. government constitutes V-C search panel for Dr. Ambedkar Law University

Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University appoints three-member V-C search panel including retired judge and former V-Cs.
The Tamil Nadu government has appointed a three-member Vice-Chancellor (V-C) search committee for the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.
Aruna Jagadeesan, retired judge of the Madras High Court, has been appointed the government nominee. S. Sachidhanandham, former V-C of the law university and former professor of National Law University, New Delhi, is the syndicate nominee, and V. Vijayakumar, also a former V-C of the Dr. Ambedkar Law University and National Law Institute University, Bhopal, is the academic senate nominee.
The gazette notification signed by S. George Alexander, Secretary to government, states that the committee will meet on the university premises and select a panel of three names. The selected list, including their biodata, that will be handed over to the government.

After mandating pet dog licensing and microchipping, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) bids to do the same for cattle to curb stray cattle issues and man-animal conflicts in the streets. The civic body has moved to make it compulsory for cattle owners to obtain licenses for their animals across all zones.
