Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team wows Hyderabad with dazzling aerial display, leaving spectators in awe of precision flying.
The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) of the Indian Air Force ruled Hyderabad’s skies on Friday, leaving spectators in awe with a dazzling display of aerobatic manoeuvres in the backdrop of a winter sun.
The team performed loops, rolls, crosses and inverted flying as a curtain-raiser to the anticipated Air Show scheduled over Hussainsagar on Sunday (December 8) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Commuters near Hussainsagar paused their routines, parking vehicles to watch the spectacle overhead. The low-flying aircraft prompted onlookers to whip out their phones and capture the breathtaking performance. People also caught the glimpse of the performance from various other locations in the city.
Flying in tight formations, the Surya Kiran team comprises nine Hawk Mk 132 aircraft, maintaining a proximity of just five metres. These aircrafts are primarily used for advanced fighter training. “The pilots undergo rigorous training to master intricate aerobatic manoeuvres. Their expertise and impeccable coordination form the backbone of these close-formation displays,” said an official from SKAT, seeking anonymity.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
