Checks at airports to be strengthened
With the emergence of a new “C.1.2 lineage” of SARS-CoV-2, first detected in some provinces in South Africa in May and now in all South African provinces, the State will make special arrangements at its four international airports for disease surveillance. Travellers coming from countries where the C.1.2 lineage has been reported – South Africa and seven other countries spanning Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania – will have to undergo RT-PCR tests at the airports and go into quarantine, it was decided at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan here on Tuesday.More Related News
