Stalin lays foundation stone for Tirunelveli Neo Tidel Park
Chief Minister M. K. Stalin laid the foundation stone for the Tirunelveli Neo Tidel Park through videoconference on Thursday.
The 3-storey Neo Tidel Park with 60,000 square feet built-up area is coming-up behind the recently inaugurated ‘Porunai Archaeological Museum’ on 3.95 acre. The information technology, business process outsourcing and information technology enabled services companies may take on lease this plug-and-play facility to set-up their offices.
“After the Tidel Park was started in Chennai by late Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, the Neo Tidel Parks are being established in tier-2 and tier-3 cities and towns of Tamil Nadu. The upcoming Neo Tidel Park in Tirunelveli will give employment to 600 youths, mostly locals,” said Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker M. Appavu after participating in the foundation stone laying ceremony here.
Since most of the Tirunelveli-based IT firms have hired spaces in private buildings at higher cost to run their offices and only a few have established their offices in their own buildings, the Tamil Nadu Government’s Neo Tidel Park is expected to provide the right ambience for IT firms to set-up their offices with all facilities at nominal charges.
The Chief Minister also remotely inaugurated the new bridge built across the Tamirabharani at Vannarpet at a cost of ₹51 crore and the Rail Over Bridge in Cheranmahadevi on an outlay of ₹239.80 crore.
Palayamkottai MLA M. Abdul Wahab thanked the Chief Minister for hand-picking his constituency of Palayamkottai for setting-up the Tirunelveli Neo Tidel Park.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
