SSLC examination: over 23,000 students appear in Tirunelveli district

Over 23,000 students in Tirunelveli district take SSLC exams with strict monitoring to prevent malpractices.
Over 23,000 students appeared for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations in Tirunelveli district that commenced on Friday.
As many as 23,647 students - 11,208 boys and 11,721 girls - from 93 government schools, 81 government-aided schools and 110 matriculation schools and 718 private candidates write the SSLC examination in 95 examination centres, including one examination centre for private candidates. Of this, 325 are physically challenged students.
A total of 95 chief superintendents, 101 department officers, 1,507 invigilators, 147 static squads and seven flying squads have been involved to check malpractices.
Collector R. Sukumar inspected Sri Nithyakalyani Vellaiyan Chettiyar Government Higher Secondary School at Radhapuram.
In Tenkasi district, 19,210 students - 9,604 boys and 9,606 girls - appear for the examination. It includes 18,579 regular students and 631 private candidates.
