
SBI chairman lays foundation for Telangana Grameena Bank HO building

State Bank of India chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty laid the foundation for Telangana Grameena Bank’s new head office in Hyderabad, aimed at strengthening its administrative capacity and operations.
State Bank of India (SBI) chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty recently laid the foundation stone for the new head office building of Telangana Grameena Bank (TGB) in Uppal Bhagayath, Hyderabad.
It is a pivotal step in enhancing TGB’s administrative capacity and supporting its expanding operations in the State, SBI said in a release on the foundation-laying ceremony in which SBI managing director Ashwini Kumar Tewari and CGM-LHO Hyderabad Radhakrishnan S. participated.
Telangana Grameena Bank is one of the nine regional rural banks sponsored by SBI. It has emerged as one of most profitable RRBs in the country with a total business of ₹79,667 crore — ₹34,659 crore deposits and ₹45,008 crore advances as of December 31, 2025. TGB serves more than 90 lakh customers across rural and semi-urban areas of Telangana through a network of 933 branches.
SBI said the chairman also led major corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Warangal. SBI has extended a grant of ₹75 lakh to the Society for Rural Development towards upgradation of rural primary school infrastructure and ₹17.5 lakh to Sahrudaya Old Age Home for critical renovation aimed at enhancing the quality of life, safety and comfort of senior citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Mr.Setty highlighted the strategic importance of SBI’s pan-India CSR activities in driving meaningful social impact.
