Responding to Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K.S. Eshwarappa, who had suggested that he should join a mental hospital, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president D.K. Shivakumar on Sunday said he was willing to join the hospital if a bed was kept ready.
“If Mr. Eshwarappa keeps a bed ready in a hospital, I will get admitted. We are doing our politics. Why is he afraid?” he asked. “Have we mentioned the name of any one legislator who will join Congress?” he added.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
