Over 37,000 students appear for Class X public exam in Coimbatore district

Over 37,000 students in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts appeared for the SSLC board exam with strict monitoring measures.
A total of 37,786 students from 526 government, aided, and private schools in Coimbatore district wrote the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) board examination on Friday.
According to data from the School Education Department, 40,645 students received hall tickets including 1,211 private candidates, 933 were absent, and 48 were exempted for the language examination. The language exam was conducted in 158 centres, including private ones.
The exam was held from 10 a.m. to 1.15 p.m., with over 3,500 teaching staff, including a 220-member flying squad, monitoring the process and preventing malpractices. A total of 945 scribes were allotted.
In Tiruppur district, 31,332 candidates appeared for the SSLC exam at 108 centres. District Collector T. Christuraj inspected the exam centre at K.S.C. Government Higher Secondary School. Flying squads under the supervision of the District Collector and Chief Educational Officer conducted surprise visits to the exam centres.
