Siddaramaiah says there was no other option for India.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hailed the precision strikes targeting terrorist bases not only in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), but also deep inside Pakistani territory.
The CM called off his scheduled visit to Raichur, to participate in a protest organised by the Congress, in the light of the national security drill.
He hailed the operation as a decisive blow to cross-border terrorism and promised full support from the government of Karnataka for the Central Government’s actions.
“Our soldiers have shown extraordinary courage by hitting terror hubs inside enemy territory,” he told mediapersons in Bengaluru on May 7.
Mr. Siddaramaiah, who had earlier drawn criticism for his remarks that there was no need for war and later clarified that he had meant that war should not be the first and only option, maintained that there was no other choice for India except to strike terror bases.
“Pakistan’s continued support to militants left us with no choice. These strikes send a clear message — India will retaliate fiercely,” he asserted.
He hailed the armed forces for their precision attacks that destroyed terror bases, but avoided any harm to civilians.
