The number of fresh COVID-19 cases among the central districts continued to report a marked increase on Friday. A total of 382 persons tested positive for the viral infection against Thursday's tally of 273 fresh cases. One death was reported in the region - in Karur district, as per the bulletin issued by the Health Department.
In Tiruchi, where the spike was the highest, 184 patients tested positive. Thanjavur too witnessed an increase with 80 fresh cases.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
