Explore Nagapattinam’s new tourism website, showcasing heritage, ecology, and coastal attractions with a fresh logo celebrating its maritime culture.
The Nagapattinam district administration has launched a comprehensive tourism website aimed at bringing all tourism-related stakeholders under a single digital platform and enabling visitors to make informed decisions.
The portal, nagapattinamtourism.com, was recently launched by Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.
Alongside the website, the district also unveiled a new tourism logo reflecting Nagapattinam’s maritime heritage, resilience, and ecological richness. The wave and fishing boat symbolise the coastal livelihood of the region, the rising sun denotes hope and renewal, the lighthouse represents a forward-looking vision while flamingos highlight the biodiversity of Point Calimere. The logo carries the tagline “Land of Miracles.”
The initiative was taken by District Collector P. Akash. Annly Anna Kurian, Project Lead of the Convergence Team with the district administration, said the objective was to bring tourists, service providers, and other stakeholders on a single digital platform.
Designed as a one-stop repository, the website provides detailed information on religious, heritage, colonial, and ecologically significant locations in the district, along with curated travel itineraries, tourism packages, and visitor guidance. The initiative is part of efforts to strengthen Nagapattinam’s position as a major pilgrimage, heritage, and coastal tourism destination.
Prominent pilgrimage centres such as the Velankanni Basilica and the Nagore Dargah, Chola-era heritage sites, beaches and less known locations are featured on the portal.
