Morrison says Australia to exceed 2030 emissions target

Australia will commit to a target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the Glasgow conference
Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on October 26 that the country is set to reduce emissions by 35% below 2005 levels by 2030, but he won't commit to such a target at the .
Mr. Morrison said his government would stick with Australia's current 2030 target of reducing emissions by 26% to 28% below 2005 levels. The targets were adopted at the Paris climate conference in 2015 and are relatively modest compared to other wealthy countries' ambitions.
“We will meet it and we will beat it,” Mr. Morrison said, referring to the 2030 target.

The Union and State governments provided support in several ways to the needy people, but private institutions should also extend help, especially to those requiring medical assistance, said C.P. Rajkumar, Managing Director, Nalam Multispeciality Hospital, here on Saturday. Speaking at a function to honour Inspector General of Police V. Balakrishnan and neurologist S. Meenakshisundaram with C. Palaniappan Memorial Award for their contribution to society and Nalam Kappom medical adoption of Type-1 diabetic children, he said the governments implemented numerous welfare programmes, but the timely help by a private hospital or a doctor in the neighbourhood to the people in need would go a long way in safeguarding their lives.
