Modi’s tele-conversation with Trump exposed ‘lies’ of Congress: BJP

BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya exposes Congress lies on Modi-Trump call, Operation Sindoor, and foreign policy.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday (June 18, 2025) said the telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump “exposed” the attempts of the Congress to derail the national narrative on Operation Sindoor.

BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya, through a post on X, said the Congress and its “troll army” could not come to terms with the fact that Mr. Modi “told President Trump in clear terms — India neither needs nor accepts any third party mediation. The de-escalation with Pakistan happened through DGMOs [Directors General of Military Operations], and at Pakistan’s own request”.

“The Congress must stop maligning India’s firm and principled foreign policy just to feed its petty narratives. Under the Congress, India was seen as a weak, third-world country. Today, India is a rising power — a bright star in the global order. No amount of lies can dim that truth,” he said.

Listing the takeaways of the telephonic conversation, Mr. Malviya said, the Prime Minister spoke with Mr. Trump on Operation Sindoor — which was initiated post Pahalgam terror attack, — stating that the response against the terror infrastructure in Pakistan was measured, precise, and non-escalatory. Mr. Modi asserted that India viewed terrorism not as a proxy war, but as a full-scale war and that Operation Sindoor was still ongoing.

Mr. Trump was invited to the next Quad summit in India and he accepted it, expressing eagerness to visit. “This conversation is bad news for the Congress! Ever since the resounding success of Operation Sindoor, the Congress has been busy spreading lies, canards, and confusion — desperate to derail the national narrative. But with Prime Minister Modi’s clear and detailed talk with President Trump, the truth is out...Congress stands exposed and embarrassed, once again,” said Mr. Malviya.

In another post, he accused senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh of being “a congenital liar”. “He is now peddling yet another falsehood, claiming that Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s statement doesn’t match the U.S. readout...but here is the catch: the readout he is citing is from January 2025! And there is no official U.S. release yet on the latest call,” said the BJP leader.
