Man behind hoax bomb threat to Hyderabad airport traced to Kamareddy

RGIA police identify hoax bomb threat caller is from Kamareddy district; investigation ongoing to apprehend suspect.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police on Thursday (January 30, 2025) identified the caller behind the hoax bomb threat to the airport a day earlier.
RGIA Sub-Inspector D. Apparao said that the caller was from Kamareddy district. “He was traced to Kamareddy using the call data record (CDR) details. A police team was rushed there on Thursday morning. However, he was not found,” the official said.
On Wednesday, anti-bomb squads and security teams conducted a thorough sweep of the airport, after a threat call was received by the Cyberabad police commissionerate control room. Further investigation is under way to nab the accused.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
