Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa, who is also the Minister in charge of Shivamogga district, held a meeting with Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and other senior officers on granting land for people who were displaced by dam projects, including the Sharavati Hydel Power Project.
The meeting discussed the issues related to regularising the cultivation of Soppinabetta and Kaanu lands, and also houses constructed in such lands. The issues related to the people displaced due to Varahi, Chakra, Savehaklu, Bhadra, and Tunga reservoirs came up for discussion.
Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh said that the government would consider the issues, and officers will be given suitable instructions to resolve the issues.
MLA for Sagar Belur Gopala Krishna, MLA for Shivamogga Rural Sharada Puryanaik, MLC Balkhees Banu, Additional Chief Secretary (RDPR) Anjum Parvez, and other officers were present at the meeting.
