
KTU council to link industry, engineering education

An innovation industry council will be set up by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) to link engineering education with industry and to diversify it.
The council will be headed by Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre Director (VSSC) S. Somanath and will comprise technical experts and prominent people from the industry.
The Syndicate, presided over by Vice Chancellor M.S. Rajasree, decided to set up the council and appeal to the government to amend the university Act to confer statutory powers of university academic and research councils to the industry council too.

Expressing the need for more number of socially responsive engineers and lawyers for furthering development of the country, Governor Thaawarchad Gehlot here on Friday lauded St. Aloysius institution for widening its service in the education sector by opening separate institutes for engineering and law

Aerofoil and inflatable kites in different forms namely Octopus and popular cartoon characters and local kites in the form of ‘Venkataramana temple chariot’ and mythological characters namely ‘Pushpaka Vimana’, ‘Rama Seeta’ and ‘Garuda’ will be seen in skies during the two-day International Kite Festival, which will commence at the Tannirbhavi beach from January 17 afternoon
