
Kochi airport receives hoax bomb threat

Hoax bomb threat at Cochin airport prompts security measures, threat assessment meeting, and increased vigilance by airlines.
A bomb threat message via e-mail was received on Monday (April 28, 2025) morning which said RDX-based explosive device had been clandestinely planted at the Cochin international airport. The threat was received at 7:53 a.m. from the email id achimuthu_ahmed_shankar@outlook.com. The threat turned out to be hoax.
A threat assessment meeting was convened at 8.55 a. m. and the CISF ensured anti-sabotage checks of all terminals at the airport.
The city-side anti-sabotage checks were conducted by the Kerala Police. Airlines called for increased vigil for all flights.
The Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has filed a complaint with the Kerala Police on the matter. It has also informed all the stakeholders concerned. The threat was non-specific, said a CIAL communication here.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
