Kerala’s Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan has described Pope Francis as a “21st-century prophet of love and compassion.”
In a condolence message on Monday, Mr Satheesan said Pope Francis had unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ’s message of love and compassion. He believed Christ’s teachings would emancipate humankind. The Pope embraced the poor, the disenfranchised and the marginalised.
Mr. Satheesan said the Pope had termed sexual minorities, particularly the LGBTQ community, as the children of God. During the Easter Sunday prayers, the Pope remembered the sufferings and tears of the war-afflicted people in Gaza.
