Kerala High Court dismisses petitions seeking investigation into financial transactions involving Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter and companies.
The Kerala High Court on Friday (March 28, 2025) dismissed petitions by Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan and late RTI activist Gireesh Babu seeking an investigation against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the alleged financial transactions between Exalogic Solutions Limited, the now-defunct company owned by his daughter T. Veena, and Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL).
The court had earlier issued notice to Mr. Vijayan and his daughter on a petition filed by Mr. Kuzhalnadan, which challenged the order of a special court of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) which dismissed his petition seeking a probe into the financial dealings between the two firms.
In his petition before the special court, Mr. Kuzhalnadan had sought a probe into the payment of ₹1.72 crore to Exalogic by CMRL.
He had also contended that the CMRL made the payment to facilitate their procurement of mineral sand from the Thottappally spillway, mined by the Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd. However, the special court had rejected the plea.
In his appeal before the High Court, the legislator argued that the special court wrongly assessed the merit of the case and passed the order.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
