IT Minister Nara Lokesh lays foundation for widening of Atchutapuram-Anakapalli road into 4-lane
Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh laid the foundation for widening of the 14-km stretch of road from Anakapalli to Atchutapuram on Monday. The road widening would be taken up at an estimated cost of ₹347 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lokesh said that people of the State have given 94% of the seats to the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance as they wanted welfare and development to go hand-in-hand. He recalled that when he had commenced his ‘Yuva Galam’ padayatra at Kuppam, the police had grabbed his mike as a large number of people had turned up for his meeting. The people showed their resentment against the YSRCP through the ballot.
The citizens had no chance to meet the elected representatives during the previous government. He said that 23 cases were booked against him for posting messages on Facebook and an equal number of cases were booked on Telugu Mahila leader and present Home Minister V. Anita. Senior TDP leader Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu was booked in a Nirbhaya case. It was the people who stood by the TDP leaders, when they were booked in false cases, and when Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was jailed in Rajamahendravam for 53 days.
Mr. Lokesh said that old-age pension has been increased and the pension amounts were being handed over to the beneficiaries at their doorstep every month. Anna Canteens have been revived, and gas cylinders were being given. The ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ and ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ would be revived in two months. He said that the election promises would be honoured. “I had promised during Yuva Galam that the Anakapalli – Atchutapuram road would be widened into a four-lane road,” he said.
Calling for the cooperation of the public, he said that the Collector and Revenue officials would come up with an amicable solution to minimise acquisition of homes and commercial buildings for the road-widening work. The NTPC Green Hydrogen, Arcelor Mittal Steel Plant and Bulk Drug park would come up in the region. He said that the NDA government would take the responsibility of transforming Anakapalli and Yelamanchili region into a developed area. He called for unity among the party workers of the alliance partners.
Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, Ministers V. Anita and Kollu Ravindra, MP C.M. Ramesh, MLA Sundarapu Vijay Kumar, TDP in-charge P. Nageswara Rao and Housing Corporation Chairman Tathabbayi were among those who particpated.

The Shakespeare Millennium Club in collaboration with the Annai Velankanni Church (Society of St. Vincent De Paul), conducted a Free Medical Camp on November 23, 2025 at the church premises from 9 am to 6 pm, with Dr. Samundi Sankari and Dr. Divya Sivaraman of Srushti Hospitals, Dr. Sharada L N of Aramba, the Kumaran Dental Clinic, Lychee and Satya Physiotherapy Centre, according to a press release.
