IPL 2026 preview: Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru clash in an exciting unbeaten showdown in Guwahati.
It should be a battle royale.
Neither Rajasthan Royals nor Royal Challengers Bengaluru has tasted defeat yet this season. But one of them will on Friday (April 9, 2026), when the two in-form sides of IPL 2026 come face to face at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. RR has played three, won three. RCB has played two, won two.
It wasn’t the most ideal situation that the Rajasthan team began its campaign. RR had finished second from bottom last year and then lost its captain and leading batter for over a decade, Sanju Samson, in a trade-off with Chennai Super Kings. Ahead of the season, Sam Curran, one of the players involved in the Samson deal, was ruled out with an injury.
But now, just about everything looks perfect for Riyan Parag’s men.
In Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal, RR boasts the most explosive opening duo in the league this season. While Suryavanshi just aims to send deliveries from every bowler —including the great Jasprit Bumrah — into the stands, Jaiswal paces his innings at will, according to what the team needs. Then there is the classy Dhruv Jurel to take over from them.

Upgrading of the railway station in Mandya into a ‘world-class facility’, establishing an additional railway station at Maddur and construction of overbridges and underpasses at level crossings along the Bengaluru-Mandya-Mysuru railway sections came under focus during a window-trailing inspection by Union Ministers H.D. Kumaraswamy and V. Somanna on Thursday.
