A Bengaluru advocate was assaulted by bike-borne men in a failed robbery attempt near Jnanabharathi on April 7.
A 35-year-old advocate was allegedly assaulted by two unidentified bike-borne miscreants who attempted to rob him, near Jnanabharathi, on the night of April 7.
The victim, identified as Shivaraja, a resident of Muddinapalya, stated in his complaint that the incident occurred between 8.54 p.m. and 10.08 p.m. He had gone to meet a friend near R.V. College and was returning when the attack took place.
According to the complaint, while driving near Jnanabharathi signal towards Jnanabharathi University Road, two unknown persons on a two-wheeler intercepted his car and forced him to stop. When he initially refused and attempted to speed away, the accused chased him and again blocked his vehicle.
The miscreants allegedly threatened him to open the car door, warning of dire consequences. Out of fear, Mr. Shivaraja opened the door, following which the accused assaulted him and demanded money and his mobile phone. When he resisted, they physically attacked and abused him.
The victim managed to alert passers-by by revealing that he was an advocate, prompting the accused to flee the spot on their motorcycle.
Mr. Shivaraja later sought treatment at a nearby hospital.

Upgrading of the railway station in Mandya into a ‘world-class facility’, establishing an additional railway station at Maddur and construction of overbridges and underpasses at level crossings along the Bengaluru-Mandya-Mysuru railway sections came under focus during a window-trailing inspection by Union Ministers H.D. Kumaraswamy and V. Somanna on Thursday.
