The district, home to 14 assembly constituencies, witnessed a steady flow of voters to polling stations since voting began. Though the turnout slowed down by noon, thanks to the scorching summer, some polling stations witnessed long queues in the evening hours too.
Eight constituencies witnessed voter turnout above 80%, while the rest recorded turnout above 75%. Kunnathunad continued its high-turnout streak, recording 83.69%, the highest in the district. The constituency, locked in a triangular contest this time, had recorded a voter turnout of 82.93% in 2021.
Kunnathunad is followed by Paravur, where Leader of the Opposition and UDF candidate V.D. Satheesan is seeking re-election in his seventh consecutive contest. Paravur recorded a voter turnout of 81.95%, an increase from 79.02% five years ago.

Upgrading of the railway station in Mandya into a ‘world-class facility’, establishing an additional railway station at Maddur and construction of overbridges and underpasses at level crossings along the Bengaluru-Mandya-Mysuru railway sections came under focus during a window-trailing inspection by Union Ministers H.D. Kumaraswamy and V. Somanna on Thursday.
