A felicitation programme was organised on Thursday in Bengaluru for C.G. Srinivasan in recognition of his contribution to social service, industrial development and entrepreneurship among the Dalit commuinities.
Those who participated in the felicitation programme recalled his 17-year contribution to the Karnataka Dalit Entrepreneurs Association (KDEA), focusing on furthering Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of economic self-reliance among Dalit communities.
Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai, participating in the function, said that Mr. Srinivasan has become a powerful and influential figure even without holding any official position. After resigning from his position as Chief Manager in the Industries Department, Mr. Srinivasan organised SC/ST entrepreneurs, and has emerged as a powerful personality without holding any formal post, he recalled.
The participants recalled Mr. Srinivasan’s contributions to the community, including subsidies for industrial land or sheds, interest subsidy loan schemes and 4% interest subsidy schemes extended to select commercial and other activities for loans up to ₹1 crore.

Upgrading of the railway station in Mandya into a ‘world-class facility’, establishing an additional railway station at Maddur and construction of overbridges and underpasses at level crossings along the Bengaluru-Mandya-Mysuru railway sections came under focus during a window-trailing inspection by Union Ministers H.D.
