Budding entrepreneurs told to approach District Industries Centres for guidance

Budding entrepreneurs encouraged to seek guidance from District Industries Centres for support in launching successful small businesses.
S. Bala Subrahmanyam, Assistant Director, District Industries Centre (DIC), NTR district, on Thursday explained the benefits of the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) scheme, which enables collateral-free loans for small businesses.
Speaking at the inaugural of ‘VIBE-2K26’ (Visualising Innovation and Building Entrepreneurs), organised by the first-year B.Tech students of the Freshman Engineering Department at Prasad V. Potluri Siddhartha Institute of Technology (PVPSIT), Mr. Subramanyam shared an inspiring case of a former daily wager who became a successful entrepreneur.
He encouraged students to explore industry websites and consider opportunities in the recycling sector. He also advised students to approach District Industries Centres for guidance on subsidies, business structure, land selection and production planning.
Resident Editor of The Hindu, Andhra Pradesh, Appaji Reddem, highlighted the growing importance of innovation-driven industries and encouraged students to explore emerging fields such as quantum computing.
He pointed out the strong potential of recycling, marketing avenues for agri-products and their economic and environmental benefits.
Citing an example of a startup from Samalkota that developed devices for monitoring blood pressure and diabetes, he urged students to think globally while acting locally. He also stressed that in today’s digital era, companies must focus on developing applications (apps) to expand their reach and improve customer engagement.

Upgrading of the railway station in Mandya into a ‘world-class facility’, establishing an additional railway station at Maddur and construction of overbridges and underpasses at level crossings along the Bengaluru-Mandya-Mysuru railway sections came under focus during a window-trailing inspection by Union Ministers H.D. Kumaraswamy and V. Somanna on Thursday.
