A.P. CM to inaugurate $15 billion Google Data Centre in Visakhapatnam on April 28, boosting local economy and job creation.
TDP Andhra Pradesh unit president Palla Srinivasa Rao has announced that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the Google Data Centre project in Visakhapatnam on April 28. Top officials from Google and Central Government are expected to attend the event.
Envisaged as a mega project with an investment of approximately $15 billion, the facility will span over 601 acres and is expected to be fully operational by July 2028, he said.
The initiative is projected to unlock substantial investments into the State while generating employment opportunities on a significant scale, he added.
In a release on Thursday, Mr. Srinivasa observed that Visakhapatnam is on the course of emerging as a global hub for artificial intelligence. He noted that the city’s evolution into the country’s first 1-gigawatt AI hub would set a transformative trajectory for the development of North Andhra.
The project, he added, is expected to catalyse the transformation of the entire North Andhra region into a vibrant technology corridor, with a marked expansion in infrastructure, industrial activity, and employment avenues. It is also likely to equip the youth with advanced skills and direct exposure to cutting-edge technologies, thereby opening pathways to global opportunities, he said.

Upgrading of the railway station in Mandya into a ‘world-class facility’, establishing an additional railway station at Maddur and construction of overbridges and underpasses at level crossings along the Bengaluru-Mandya-Mysuru railway sections came under focus during a window-trailing inspection by Union Ministers H.D. Kumaraswamy and V. Somanna on Thursday.
