As the year 2024 draws to a close, hotels and restaurants in Tiruchi are getting ready to usher in 2025 with a host of promotions this week.
The celebratory mood, which began with Christmas, will continue until the end of the month as customers plan more group outings at restaurants and resorts, said hospitality industry players.
“There is great interest among patrons to attend New Year parties in Tiruchi. This year, we have a poolside party titled ‘Elite Experience Under the Stars’ with a special countdown show as part of the events. Besides this, we have a festive New Year’s Eve banquet at the Dakshin Nakshatra restaurant,” J. Prabhakaran, food and beverages manager, SRM Hotel, told The Hindu.
As an add-on service this year, customers can book on-call chauffeurs to drive them back home after the late night programmes, said Mr. Prabhakaran.
At the Courtyard by Marriott, a New Year’s Eve dinner will held from 7 p.m. until midnight on December 31 and a New Year’s brunch will be held the following day from 12.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the hotel’s Tiruchi Kitchen restaurant.
“We had an amazing response from the guests this year, in terms of banquets, special events, and room occupancy. Our food festivals, featuring the cuisine of Lucknow, Chettinad, Goa, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, have been a big hit. We are hoping the New Year’s festivities will be well received,” said Venu Gopal, managing director, Courtyard by Marriott.
Ramyas Hotel will be ringing in the New Year with a gala dinner at its Thendral rooftop restaurant on December 31. The highlight is an unlimited live barbecue along with a special dinner menu served in an ambient setting.

But, not many know that the water supplied to the houses in Madurai is directly drawn from Lower Dam of Mullaperiyar Dam in Idukki district of Kerala.
