This year's survey will create a level playing field for smaller cities by introducing two population categories—under 15,000 and between 15,000-25,000.
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday launched the 'Swachh Survekshan 2022', the seventh edition of the annual cleanliness survey under which district rankings have been introduced for the first time.
In a statement, the ministry said that this year's survey will create a level playing field for smaller cities by introducing two population categories—under 15,000 and between 15,000-25,000.
The scope of the survey has been expanded to now cover 100% wards for sampling as compared to 40% in previous years, according to the HUA Ministry.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
