Later in the day, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced that the government will be holding an all-party meeting at 11 a.m. at Parliament on Thursday. The Congress expressed hope that Mr. Modi would attend the meeting.
Speaking to reporters, Congress general secretary (communications) Jairam Ramesh said the Opposition had expected the PM to attend the last all-party meeting called on April 24 in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack but for some reason he could not.
“Tomorrow is another all-party meeting. This is the first all-party meeting after the powerful and decisive ‘Operation Sindoor’. Our Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha as well as Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, both will be attending the meeting. We expect the Prime Minister to chair the meeting. We know that every detail cannot be shared in such meetings, but broadly, the diplomatic and security strategy can be discussed,” Mr. Ramesh said.
