World Stroke Organisation honours Dr. Ahamed Subir H. with Young Investigator Award for specialisation in stroke therapy for patients in rural areas
Ahamed Subir H., Assistant Professor of Neurology at M.E.S. Medical College, Perinthalmanna, won international recognition for his study on thrombolytic therapy in acute stroke patients. The World Stroke Organisation’s 13th World Stroke Congress honoured Dr. Subir with the Young Investigator Award for his study, which underscored the importance of expanding thrombolytic therapy or dissolving blood clots for stroke patients in rural areas. “Within four-and-a-half hours after a stroke, we can effectively address the condition by dissolving the blood clot through thrombolysis. What we need to have is an increased awareness among people, especially those living in rural areas, about stroke symptoms and the methods to address them,” said Dr. Subir.More Related News
